All Students attend Mass every Friday at 9am. All families are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Pre-KindergartenSt. Catherine of Siena Catholic School Denver, CO

We believe the best learning occurs through play and exploration as well as through various pre-planned activities. We also believe that teaching to the whole child is important fostering a love of learning and a love for the lord as well. Our curriculum is based upon the guidelines for preschoolers.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten classes are available for students who are five by September 15th of the year of their enrollment. Kindergarten is a full day program and classes are instructed by one teacher who is assisted be a teacher-aide for half of the school day. The kindergarten curriculum includes readiness programs in math, reading, and exploratory exploratory experiences in religion, science, and social studies. Students also participate in music, physical education, art, and computer classes.

Grades 1 and 2

Students split their days between two classrooms with instruction in seven academic subjects: religion, reading, English, spelling, math, science, and social studies. The primary emphasis is to develop strong basic skills in reading and math, on acquiring a fundamental knowledge of Catholicism and to increase personal responsibility and integrity.

Grades 3 through 5

Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade spend most of their time with one teacher in a self contained classroom setting with instruction in seven academic subjects: religion, reading, English, spelling, math, science, and social studies. Grades 3 through 5 also receive instruction in computers, art, music, and physical education. Again the primary emphasis is to continue to develop strong basic skills in reading and math, on acquiring a fundamental knowledge of Catholicism and to increase personal responsibility and integrity.

Middle School: Grades 6th, 7th, and 8th

Our middle school students continue their formal instruction in the academic areas of religion, literature, English, spelling, math, science, and social studies. Middle school students have a homeroom teacher whose classroom provides a home base for the students. Middle school students also receive instruction in computers, art, music, and physical education. The curriculum provides the necessary tools to prepare and excel in the high school setting.
